Train Versus Car Collision in Davis Kills at Least 1 Person
DAVIS, CA (September 19, 2019) — At least one person died in a train and car accident east of Davis Monday afternoon.
According to the Calfornia Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. A westbound Amtrak train struck a Toyota sedan on the railroad crossing at County Road 32A and County Road.
After the collision, Amtrak officials released an email alert regarding a vehicle crossing incident causing a Capitol Corridor to stop between Sacramento and Davis.
The officials have not released the name of the victim, as well as the total number of people involved in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
