1 Dead in Sumner Train Accident
SUMNER, WA (January 16, 2020) – A pedestrian died in a train accident on the tracks north of Sumner on January 15.
The incident caused major delays for people who use the Sounder South train. Sound Transit advised commuters to take the bus or use other alternative transportation.
The authorities also dispatched three special buses to Sumner to transport riders to Seattle.
Authorities hold northbound trains 1504, 1506, 1508, 1510 and 1512 and canceled 1514 and 1516. They also canceled southbound trains 1501 and 1503.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
