Car Crash on 5 Freeway in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA (June 6, 2019) – A man died in a single-car crash on 5 Freeway on June 4.
A man in a black Ford Ranger steered off a curve on northbound 5 Freeway near the Santa Margarita River shortly before 10:00 p.m. Monday, the CHP revealed.
The vehicle went off the road, hit a tree and caught fire, CHP public-affairs Officer Mark Latulippe stated.
Witnesses came rushing to the burning vehicle and freed the injured driver. Medics attempted to revive the victim. However, he died at the scene.
The incident forced a partial closure of northbound 5 Freeway for around 2 1/2 hours, the CHP added.
