LANCASTER, CA (September 11, 2024) – Monday night, a fatal pedestrian crash on Third Street East and Avenue I killed one person.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Third Street East and Avenue I.

According to sheriff’s Detective Nestor Garcia, a westbound red four-door sedan struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the pedestrian died in the crash.

Furthermore, officers said the victim was walking north in a marked crosswalk when the incident happened.
