1 Person Dead in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on South Chester Avenue and Sandra Drive

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 21, 2024) – Sunday night, a fatal pedestrian crash on South Chester Avenue and Sandra Drive killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of South Chester Avenue and Sandra Drive.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was standing in the traffic lanes, and outside a marked crosswalk.

Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian, dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
