1 Person Dead in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway and Ohio Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (January 4, 2024) – Wednesday morning, authorities arrested a woman after a fatal pedestrian crash on Pacific Coast Highway and Ohio Avenue.
The incident happened at around 5:25 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway and Ohio Avenue.
According to reports, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was walking in the eastbound lanes of PCH. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.
Moreover, paramedics pronounced the pedestrian, dead at the scene.
Furthermore, authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle, identified as a 55-year-old Long Beach woman, turned herself in to police at the Signal Hill Police Department. Then, officers arrested and transported her to Long Beach City Jail for felony hit-and-run. She has since been released.
Meanwhile, officials do not believe that speed, distracted driving, or impaired driving, played a role in the incident.
