1 Person Dead in Oceanside Pedestrian Accident on Mission Avenue near Ocean Pointe Road

OCEANSIDE, CA (April 17, 2024) – Monday night, a fatal pedestrian crash on Mission Avenue near Ocean Pointe Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. on Mission Avenue, west of Ocean Pointe Road.

According to Oceanside police Sgt. Clint Bussey, an eastbound gold Nissan Murano struck a male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway outside a marked crosswalk. Then, a second vehicle struck the victim who was already down in the pavement.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 45-year-old pedestrian, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities confirmed that both drivers who were involved in the crash remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
