BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 7, 2023) – Monday night, a fatal pedestrian crash on Highway 155 near Keysville Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:20 p.m. on Highway 155, east of Keysville Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2009 Ford struck a male pedestrian who was walking westbound on Highway 155 and into the path of the Ford. Then, the force of the crash pushed the pedestrian into a dirt embankment.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 29-year-old Kernville man, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the driver involved in the crash, a Wofford Heights man, remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
