Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Woodside Avenue [Lakeside, CA]

56-Year-Old Lakeside Woman Struck and Killed by Car at Shamrock Lane

 
LAKESIDE, CA (August 4, 2018) – A woman was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident on Woodside Avenue, late Saturday night. Her name and place of residence were not immediately disclosed to the public.
 
The collision took place around 10:45 PM at Shamrock Lane, according to Officer Travis Garrow with the California Highway Patrol.
 
Reports stated that the 56-year-old woman of Lakeside was walking southbound on Woodside outside of a crosswalk. She walked directly into the path of a Ram pickup truck and she was struck.
 
CHP officers and Lakeside Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The 20-year-old driver from Alpine remained at the scene and cooperated with officials during their investigation.
 
It is unclear whether or not she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision. No further details have been released at this time, as authorities continue to investigate.
