1 Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Accident
TUCSON, AZ (September 24, 2019) – A man died in a pedestrian accident involving a truck on Grant Road on September 21.
Officers found out that a crash occurred between the truck and the man. According to the Tucson Police Department, officers drove on East Grant Road and North Columbus Boulevard when they located an adult male pedestrian lying in the roadway at about 10:30 p.m.
TPD said that a pickup truck pulled to the side near the man in the roadway.
Officers administered a CPR and Tucson Fire responded to the scene to treat the man. They took the man to Banner University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, detectives found out that an eastbound 1999 Ford Pickup Truck traveled on Grant Road in the median lane. As it approached Columbus Boulevard, the pedestrian crossed in front of the truck and got struck.
According to reports, the pedestrian traveled north to south and didn’t use a crosswalk.
Meanwhile, the driver didn’t suffer from impairment and authorities ruled out speed as a factor in the crash.
According to the police, the involved driver helped with the investigation.
Authorities haven’t issued any arrests or citations as of the moment.
The crash remains under investigation.
