1 Killed in Tacoma Pedestrian Accident
TACOMA, WA (July 22, 2019) – A person died in a pedestrian accident near 28th Street on July 18 in Tacoma.
The crash occurred around 12:35 p.m. The collision took place about 12:35 p.m. near East 28th Street and East R Street.
Officers advised drivers to avoid the area and expect closures on Bay Street.
The “investigation will interrupt traffic for a couple of hours,” the department revealed.
According to reports, the 50-year-old truck driver traveled east on East 28th Street when he hit the man. A police spokeswoman stated that the driver stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of intoxication.
Meanwhile, a witness revealed that the semi driver had a green light and couldn’t stop in time to prevent hitting the crossing pedestrian.
