Woman Killed and Multiple Injured in Chain-Reaction Car Crash near Interstate 5

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (June 11, 2018) – A mulitple-vehicle accident on Interstate 205 took the life of one woman and injured multiple others, early Monday morning. Identities of the parties involved were not immediately disclosed.
 
California Highway Patrol reports stated that the chain-reaction collision involving five vehicles, occurred just before 2:00 AM, near Interstate 5. A box truck was going from the I-205 onto the I-5, when a vehicle clipped the box truck, causing it to overturn.
 
The woman driving the vehicle got out of her car and another good Samaritan pulled over to help with the accident. A chain-reaction began when another box truck was approaching the area and struck the good Samaritan’s car. After this collision, another vehicle struck the previous cars involved.
 
The woman who hit the first box truck was fatally injured in the collision. Two children were injured, and one was in serious condition. All other drivers sustained minor injuries, and there is no update on anyone’s current medical condition.
 
Officials closed off several lanes of the northbound I-5 at the 205 freeway for some time, as authorities investigated and crews cleaned up the large crash site. No additional information has been released to the public, as the investigation continues.
