Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on 44th Avenue Claim Lives [Lynnwood, WA]

Lynnwood, WA (November 20, 2024) On Tuesday morning, 2 people were killed after a tragic multi-vehicle crash on 44th Avenue.

According to Lynnwood police, the deadly crash happened around 9:55 a.m. on northbound 44th Avenue.

Reports say that a stolen minivan caused a tragic crash that claimed two lives on Tuesday.

Authorities say that the incident began around 9:55 a.m. when Lynnwood Police received a report of a stolen minivan from the Park and Ride.

Officials say that the driver of the stolen van recklessly sped out of the parking lot, colliding with a vehicle and losing the van’s door in the process. Continuing to flee, the driver caused two minor crashes while heading toward 44th Avenue from 168th Avenue at high speeds.

While traveling north on 44th Avenue, the driver veered into oncoming traffic, striking a southbound SUV head-on. Tragically, the crash killed a 69-year-old woman driving the SUV and the driver of the stolen van.

Authorities closed 44th Avenue West for several hours to investigate, reopening it to traffic just before 3 p.m. Lynnwood Police suspect that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash and shared updates on the incident via social media at 10:37 a.m.
