Fatal Multi-Car Crash on Interstate 10 Claim Lives [Sun Lakes, AZ]

Two Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash and Fire on I-10 Near Riggs Road

Sun Lakes, AZ (October 18, 2024) On Wednesday afternoon, 2 people were killed in a horrific multi-car crash on Interstate 10.

According to DPS, the fatal collision happened on Interstate 10 near Riggs Road.

Reports say that a multi-vehicle crash resulted in the deaths of two drivers, DPS says that accident occurred when traffic slowed on the westbound side of I-10.

Officials say that 2-axle box truck failed to stop in time, colliding with a pickup truck and three other vehicles.

Moreover, the impact pushed both trucks into the median, where they caught fire. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, and no passengers were in either vehicle.

Two other drivers involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital, while the driver of a third vehicle was unharmed. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and the interstate was closed for several hours before reopening around 6:30 p.m.
