1 Person Dead in Rancho San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Jamacha Road and Brabham Street

RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA (September 5, 2024) – Sunday morning, a fatal hit-and-run crash on Jamacha Road and Brabham Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on Jamacha Road and Brabham Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound mid-2000s Toyota Corolla with faded gold paint failed to yield the right of way. It struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. Then, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene northbound without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders rushed the 81-year-old pedestrian to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, authorities said that the hit-and-run driver is best described as a bald man, about 5’5″ in height, and between 150 and 180 pounds.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
