2 People Killed in Sedrift Plane Accident near Sanctuary Lake Drive

SEDRIFT, TX (March 8, 2023) – Monday night, a fatal helicopter crash near Sanctuary Lake Drive killed two people.

The incident happened near the 700 block of Sanctuary Lake Drive.

According to a spokesperson with the Coast Guard, the helicopter headed from Port O’Connor to the Calhoun County-Port Lavaca Airport.

Meanwhile, DPS added that the helicopter landed beside a home at The Sanctuary at Costa Grande in Seadrift.

Later on Tuesday, Sheriff Vickery with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office revealed that two people died in the crash. One of them was a male while the other was a female.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
