1 Killed in South Lake Tahoe Multi-Vehicle Crash near Elks Club Drive

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) said that they dispatched crews to a fire in South Lake Tahoe near Elks Club Drive.
The cause of the fire is a multi-vehicle crash involving a big rig. The big rig rolled over in the collision and exploded.
According to CHP, the big rig carried gas, diesel or both. CHP also confirmed that some spilled into the Truckee River. Hence, HAZMAT crews responded to the scene.
A person died in the multi-vehicle crash. Moreover, Renown officials revealed that the crash caused multiple casualties and a care flight came to the scene.
The Lake Valley Fire Protection District came at the scene first.
The crash blocked all lanes of Highway 50, east of Meyers.
