Pick-Up Driver and One Other Killed in Fresno Crash on Highway 41

Fresno, CA (September 16, 2020) – On Wednesday, two people lost their lives in a vehicle head-on fiery crash on Highway 41.

California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident was reported at about 6:15 a.m. in Fresno County.

Officers said a Nissan pick-up truck driver was traveling northbound in the two-lane section of Highway 41 south of Elkhorn Avenue begun to pass cars.

The truck driver sideswiped a Chevy Tahoe in the southbound lane. As result, the SUV to spun off the highway.

Then, the truck crashed head-on into a Hyundai Veloster behind the Chevy Tahoe.

CHP officials said the Nissan driver was pinned inside the truck when it caught fire.

Authorities pronounced both the Nissan driver and the Hyundai driver dead at the fiery crash scene.

Meanwhile , it is not yet clear if the four people inside the Chevy Tahoe incurred any injuries. Though, they were expected to be fine.

For the meantime, authorities closed the Highway 41 is closed in both directions as they investigate. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
