Fatal DUI Crash on Ellenwood Road Kills 1 Injures 3 [Waterford, CA]

Waterford, CA (April 17, 2023) On Friday evening, a fatal DUI crash on Ellenwood Road left an adult man dead and a young boy injured.

CHP says that the deadly solo-vehicle accident happened around 9:45 p.m. north of the Oakdale-Waterford Highway.

Authorities say that a 26-year-old Waterford man was driving a southbound Ford Mustang that failed to negotiate a curve on the road and collided with a tree.

Reports say that the Ford has 3 other passengers, a 6-year-old boy, and 2 8-year-old boys. The impact of the crash ejected the driver and an 8-year-old boy who were not wearing their seatbelts. The man died at the scene, while the o-year-old boy was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for treatment of major injuries.

Meanwhile, the 2 other boys were taken to a hospital as a precaution. Officials say that the Ford burst into flames after the children were safely taken out of the vehicle.
