2 People Arrested in Bay Bridge Deadly Traffic Crash
San Francisco, CA (January 15, 2024) On Sunday morning, a woman lost her life after a horrific DUI accident near Treasure Island.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Bay Bridge deadly traffic crash happened at about 3:16 a.m. eastbound Interstate 80 just west of Treasure Island.
Reports say that a blue Honda sedan rear-ended a Mercedes SUV, and the Mercedes was stopped in the number 2 lane for unknown reasons.
Officials say that the 25-year-old female driver of the Honda stepped out of her vehicle and was standing in the #2 lane when a gray Honda collided with the back of her vehicle, which in turn struck the Mercedes again.
Authorities say that the collision also struck the Blue Honda’s female driver. Medics rushed the woman to the hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the gray Honda complained of pain and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Officers were later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Moreover, the Mercedes driver was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, officials confirmed that the Mercedes driver escaped injuries from the crash.
CHP is investigating the fatal crash and has not released additional information at this time.
