1 Killed in Calistoga Bicycle Accident on Foothill Boulevard
CALISTOGA, CA (July 19, 2019) – A person died in a bicycle accident on Foothill Boulevard on July 18 in Calistoga.
Calistoga Police came to the scene around 4:00 a.m. and found the body of a deceased white adult male. They located him lying in the eastbound lane of Foothill Boulevard near the intersection of Silver Street, In addition, police located a bicycle nearby.
Officers noticed injuries consistent with being hit by a car. Unfortunately, they never saw responsible vehicles at the scene, Calistoga Police Chief Mitch Celaya said.
The Calistoga PD requested the help of CHP and the County Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team. After that, police shut down Foothill Boulevard from Lincoln Avenue to Petrified Forest Road. As a result, the authorities are investigating the collision.
In addition, authorities diverted northbound Highway 29 traffic to Tubbs Lane. However, by 2:00 p.m. Foothill Boulevard reopened.
