Bakersfield, CA (June 1, 2024) Early Friday morning, a pedestrian was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal traffic crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Highway 99, south of Merced Avenue.

CHP says that a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle. First responders found a person down on the road.
