26-Year-Old Driver Dies Days after Solo-Vehicle Crash near Camino Del Rey
BONSALL, CA (April 13, 2019) – A 26-year-old Fallbrook man died almost a week after he received grave injuries in a rollover crash on Interstate 15. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Camino Del Rey, shortly before 2:40 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, a northbound Chevrolet Silverado drifted to the side and struck a metal guardrail. The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to overturn.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido with major injuries. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead nearly a week after the incident.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash. Anyone with information is asked to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Further details will be released once they become available.
