Elderly Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Fallbrook
FALLBROOK, CA (May 15, 2019) – A 71-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning in Fallbrook, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department confirmed.
Sheriff’s deputies were called around 5:10 a.m. about a body lying in the roadway at East Mission Road and North Vine Street.
The man was trying to cross the street when he was struck by vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
The suspect vehicle was described as a white Chevrolet Suburban or GCM Yukon XL. The model year is either late 1990s or early 2000s.
East Mission Road was closed at North Orange Avenue for the on-scene investigation;
