84-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Accident on Road 20 Near Avenue 22
FAIRMEAD, CA (December 29, 2017) – A Grey 2015 Nissan Altima struck an elderly pedestrian standing on the side of the road on Friday evening around 5:20 PM.
The 84-year-old Chowchilla man was killed in the deadly auto accident that took place on Road 20 just north of Avenue 22 in Madera County.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the woman driving the Nissan remained at the scene as was not suspected of driving under the influence (DUI). The driver was identified as 20-year-old Valeria Santana.
According to the evidence on the scene, Santana is being charged with vehicular manslaughter, and was booked by the Madera County jail.
No further information has been provided on the accident at this moment as investigation continues. The identification of the elderly pedestrian killed has not yet been released.
