Late Evening 2-Car Wreck on 80 Freeway in Fairfield Turns Deadly
FAIRFIELD, CA (January 5, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a two-car crash late Saturday evening in unincorporated Solano County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 10:53 p.m. near the connector of eastbound 80 Freeway and northbound 680 Freeway.
CHP officials said a red Ford Mustang and a white Audi sedan were involved. While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, at least one fatality was found as a result of the accident.
The crash raised a SigAlert in the area, blocking two freeway lanes for unknown duration. Traffic was backing up fast, and motorists were advised to avoid the eastbound 80 Freeway through Cordelia.
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. Police are still investigating the incident and more information will be provided when accessible.
