2 Cars Involved in Morning Collision on 680 Freeway in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, CA (December 1, 2018) – Injuries and damage reported following a two-car crash Saturday morning in Fairfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:49 a.m. at the intersection of 680 Freeway and 80 Freeway.
CHP officials said that a blue Hyundai Sonata and a gold Acura collided, blocking both lanes of the freeway. The impact caused injuries to unknown parties. The Hyundai also sustained a front-end damage, while the Acura had a broken right front wheel.
The number of injured patients and the extent of their injuries were not immediately available, but an ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene to give aid.
Towing services were also requested to remove the damaged cars from the crash site.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. Authorities are looking further into the accident.
