Mitchell Finesod Arrested in Deadly Crash on 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY, CA (September 5, 2019) – Two people were killed and three others were injured following a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Moreno Valley.
The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. on eastbound 60 Freeway, about two miles east of Gilman Springs Road.
According to the CHP, a white 1993 Corvette was in a traffic construction zone when it recklessly attempted to use the right shoulder to pass slower-moving vehicles.
The driver of the Corvette, 55-year-old Mitchell Finesod of Cathedral City, tried to overtake a big rig ahead of him, but was unable to move in front of it without clipping the right front wheel of the truck.
The impact sent the Corvette spinning onto the concrete center median K-rail and into an eastbound black Jaguar SUV.
As a result, the top of the SUV was sheared off and instantly killed the male driver and a female left rear-seat passenger. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified them as Fahad Alogaily, 18, and Ahmed Alogaily, 20.
Paramedics transported the right-front passenger and right-rear passenger of the Jaguar to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, Finesod sustained minor injuries. He was taken in custody.
Officials closed the 60 Freeway in both directions for about three hours while they worked on the scene.
We would like to extend our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Fahad Alogaily and Ahmed Alogaily.
