Pedestrian Struck in Hit-And-Run Accident near Railroad Avenue and 8th Street
SANTA CLARITA, CA (October 13, 2020) – On Monday, a pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash near Railroad Avenue and 8th Street. Later, police arrested Fabian Vergara-Rendon.
Moreover, LACFD received a report at around 7:10 p.m., about a hit-and-run accident. It happened near the intersection of Railroad Avenue and 8th Street in Newhall.
A pedestrian struck by a vehicle was rushed to a nearby hospital, according to Supervisor Ornelas.
A report indicated a damaged red Ford Mustang leaving the scene.
Later news revealed that police found the suspect, 43-year-old Fabian Vergara-Rendon, at 8:30 p.m.
After failing a sobriety test, authorities arrested Mr. Vergara-Rendon for DUI and hit-and-run.
They then transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail for booking, where his bail is set at 150k.
Officials redirect traffic through Main Street after all northbound traffic for Railroad Ave. was temporarily shutdown.
