Distracted Driving Causes Teen to Crash into Parked Cars on Colby Avenue Near 50th Street
EVERETT, WA (February 9, 2018) – An accident involving several parked cars took place on Colby Avenue near 50th Street, early Thursday morning around midnight.
According to reports, three teenagers were driving in a Subaru going south on Colby, when the driver lost control and crashed into the back of a parked car. The impact caused the parked car to then push into two other vehicles.
Two teens were injured in the accident, and no other injuries or damages were reported. Officials shut down Colby Ave between 50th and 52nd Streets for investigation and medical attention for the injured parties.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors. The police believe that the crash was caused by the driver being distracted by activity in the car. The identities of the teens involved have not been released at this time.
