Fatal Everett Transit Bus Pedestrian Collision on 8100 Block of Broadway Ave
EVERETT, WA (March 16, 2018) – A man died on Friday evening after he was struck by a transit bus on Broadway Avenue.
Everett Police responded to the scene of the crash at the 8100 block of Broadway Avenue at around 10 PM, after being alerted about a man that was struck by an Everett Transit Bus. First responders performed CPR on the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial video surveillance shows that the man exited a black 4-door sedan that stopped at the side of the road. But when the man was about to re-enter the car, it drove off and knocked him into the roadway and into the path of an Everett Transit bus. The sedan continued to drive south on Broadway Avenue, leaving the site of the crash.
Detectives were able to locate the sedan in Mukilteo and interviewed a female driver. There was no immediate confirmation as to why the sedan stopped on the road, or why it drove off and left the scene.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the man who died and determine the exact cause of his death.
