BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 14, 2021) – Saturday night, Everardo Perez Jr died in an intentional crash on Jewett Avenue.
 
According to the authorities, the first collision happened at around 9:40 p.m. A pickup truck with a utility trailer intentionally struck a vehicle at the 4200 block of Jewett Avenue.
 
The driver attempted to strike the same vehicle a second time. Then, it struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Q and West Columbus streets.
 
Responders treated two people inside the vehicle struck by the suspect for minor injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital with moderate injuries.
 
Furthermore, after the first incident, the suspect fled the scene and collided head-on with another vehicle at the 3900 block of Q Street.
 
Moreover, responders confirmed that the driver of the second vehicle struck by the suspect died at Kern Medical. The authorities identified the deceased victim as 26-year-old Everardo Perez Jr.
 
Also, the paramedics transported a female passenger of the vehicle to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that the suspect was extricated from the vehicle and was uncooperative. Paramedics transported the suspect to a hospital in critical condition.
 
Also, authorities said that the suspect is under arrest and will be facing charges for homicide and assault with a deadly weapon.
