Driver Jailed in East LA Fatal Crash
Los Angeles, CA (December 27, 2023) – 21-year-old Evelyn Ortega Solis was killed in an E Olympic Boulevard collision early Tuesday morning.
The violent 7-vehicle crash unfolded at 12:16 a.m. on S Vancouver Avenue in East LA.
CHP Public Information Officer William O’Hair said, “It appears the traffic was going eastbound on Olympic when the crash occurred. If you look at the damage on the vehicles, one of the vehicles is almost undistinguishable, so I’m sure speed was a factor. As to what factor it played, it’s hard to know at this time.”
Moreover, a video from the collision showed some of the vehicles on top of each other, most of them were severely damaged.
Troopers said two of the vehicles involved in the crash were in motion when the accident happened while the rest were parked along the street. Officers also said that it’s also too soon to tell if the driver may have run a red light
The man driving the vehicle Evelyn Ortega Solis was riding was arrested. He and the driver of the other vehicle incurred only minor injuries.
