25-Year-Old Evelyn Merced-Rojas Killed in Interstate 27 Wrong-Way Crash [Plainview, TX]

Plainview, TX (April 13, 2024) – 25-year-old Evelyn Merced-Rojas was killed and others were injured following an Interstate 27 wrong-way crash early Friday morning.

DPS troopers responded at about 6:30 a.m. to the three-vehicle fatal crash near FM 3466.

Responding officers said a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the highway collided with another vehicle. A third vehicle was also hit as the other two cars came to a rest.

Evelyn Merced-Rojas, the wrong-way driver, was killed at the crash scene.

Moreover, the occupants of the second vehicle were transported to UMC and the driver of the third vehicle was taken to Covenant Hospital in Plainview.
