Pedestrian Hurt in Petaluma Accident on Kentucky Street
PETALUMA, CA (June 13, 2022) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Evan Weise following a DUI crash on Kentucky Street.
The incident occurred just after 11:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Kentucky Street.
According to reports, 22-year-old Evan Weise from Cotati drove north in a gray BMW. Then, he “accelerated to a high rate of speed” and hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Afterward, Weise continued driving and struck a vehicle at the intersection of Kentucky and Washington streets. Then, his BMW steered off the road and crashed with a pole and a tree.
Meanwhile, the driver whose vehicle Weise hit veered off and caused a crash with two other vehicles on Washington Street.
Some witnesses tried to help Evan Weise. However, Weise punched one of the people trying to help him.
Upon the officers’ arrival, Weise remained uncooperative. Thus, the officers used a restraint device after kicking one of them.
Meanwhile, responders took the pedestrian to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Also, responders took Evan Weise to a hospital and officers booked him into the Sonoma County Jail. He was detained on suspicion of DUI causing an injury, hit and run causing an injury, battery, and assault on a police officer.
