Rider Dies in Abilene Traffic Collision
Abilene, TX (October 16, 2023) – 28-year-old Eugenio Cruz of Abilene lost his life following a Grape Street collision Saturday night.
The authorities responded to the 2-vehicle crash at about 8:37 p.m. at the intersection with South 1st Street.
Investigating officers said a Jeep Liberty was eastbound on South 1st Street and turning onto Grape Street while a motorcycle was westbound on South 1st Street. The motorcycle collided with the Jeep at the intersection.
Eugenio Cruz, the motorcyclist, incurred serious injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Officers said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. Officers are still investigating.
