Man Dead in Alpine Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 8 near Willows Road
ALPINE, CA (June 16, 2021) – Wednesday night, Eugene John Flannigan died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 8 near Willows Road.
The CHP and Medical Examiner’s Office said that 61-year-old Eugene John Flannigan rode his 2009 Kawasaki Concourse. As he traveled west on Interstate 8 near Willows Road, he crashed.
Then, just before 6:00 p.m., another motorist reported that a rider lost control of his bike and veered off the freeway.
However, the CHP officers, firefighters, and a sheriff’s helicopter crew failed to find the wreckage Wednesday night.
The next day, at about 5:10 p.m., the sheriff’s deputies notified the CHP that they found a fatal motorcycle crash scene. Moreover, the incident was found between I-8 and Willows Road, just a little west of Viejas Casino & Resort.
