Ramon Reyes-Cabrera, Esther Ireta Killed in San Dimas 5-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway
SAN DIMAS, CA (June 30, 2019) – Officials identified the two people who died in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday morning on 10 Freeway in San Dimas.
Police identified the deceased Corcora residents as 66-year-old Esther Ireta and 91-year-old Ramon Reyes-Cabrera.
A Ford F-550 rear-ended a Buick Encore, with Ireta and Reyes-Cabrera inside. Police reported the accident around 8:45 a.m. along the westbound lanes of 10 Freeway at Via Verde Street.
According to reports, the Ford pickup, driven by a 49-year-old Anaheim man, traveled at about 70 mph. As a result, it made an unsafe lane change as it approached a traffic jam. That led to a chain-reaction crash involving a total of five vehicles. The Buick slammed into the back of the Ford.
The driver and one passenger in the Buick died in the crash, identified as Ireta and Reyes-Cabrera.
Paramedics transported three others to Pomona Valley Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not being ruled out as factors in the crash. CHP is still investigating the incident.
We hope the families and friends of Esther Ireta and Ramon Reyes-Cabrera are surrounded by steadfast and comforting support as they grieve for the loss of their loved ones.
