Injury Reported in Fatal Traffic Accident on Interstate 5
Seattle, WA (March 1, 2024) Early Wednesday morning, 22-year-old Esteban Cortes of Marysville was killed in a horrific crash on Interstate 5.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the fatal traffic accident happened at about 12:45 a.m. on northbound I-5 near the Mercer Street exit.
Reports say that Cortes exited his disabled car and attempted to cross all lanes of the freeway to get to the left shoulder. Consequently, a Lexus, driven by a 40-year-old Tacoma man hits Cortes, and officials pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the fatal traffic crash and have not released further information at this time.
