1 Dead in Fallbrook Motorcycle Accident on East Mission Road and Via Zancas

 
FALLBROOK, CA (August 17, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a 63-year-old Escondido man died in a motorcycle crash on East Mission Road and Via Zancas.
 
The crash occurred at around 3:40 p.m. on East Mission Road at Via Zancas.
 
According to reports, the man rode east on a Honda CTX. Then, he lost control around a right-hand curve on the two-lane highway.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist went down in the oncoming traffic lane and was ejected from his motorcycle as he struck the pavement. Then, a Mercedes-Benz C250 coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcyclist.
 
When firefighters arrived, they initiated CPR on the severely injured rider. Then, paramedics took him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
 
However, the unidentified rider succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Moreover, the authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
 
Furthermore, authorities closed both directions of East Mission Road for about an hour. However, all lanes reopened by 4:40 p.m.
