47-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision near East El Norte Parkway
ESCONDIDO, CA (March 12, 2018) – A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash with a garbage truck in North County, early Monday morning.
The 47-year-old rider lost control of his motorcycle when he tried to overtake a garbage truck near East El Norte Parkway at around 6:45 AM. He was thrown from the motorcycle and landed under the truck, where its rear wheels rolled over him.
The responding paramedics rushed the man to Palomar Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not been released to the public at this time.
Rose Street, between El Norte Parkway and Stanley Street, was shut down for investigation. Police officials do not believe that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the collision. Witnesses with additional information are encouraged to contact the Escondido police by calling (760) 839-4407.
