Deadly Escalon Crash on Steinegul Road Involving Box

 
ESCALON, CA (May 2, 2019) – One person was killed following a traffic collision involving a box truck Thursday afternoon in Escalon.
 
The collision happened around 4:49 p.m. at Steinegul and Dodds roads.
 
According to a witness, the box truck had rolled over and landed on its side, blocking all lanes at Edwards Avenue. The truck also spilled fuel on the roadway.
 
Officials arrived on the scene and found one occupant with major injuries. Paramedics took the patient to a hospital, where the individual was declared dead.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
 
At this time, CHP officials are in the process of investigating the incident to determine the cause and factors involved.
