1 Dead in Indio Train Accident on Indio Boulevard
INDIO, CA (August 3, 2020) – On Saturday, the authorities identified 28-year-old Ernie Hernandez Jr. as the victim of the train crash on Indio Boulevard.
At around 12:05 a.m., a Southern Pacific train struck Ernie Hernandez Jr. on the railroad tracks north of Indio Boulevard, east of Monroe Street.
Unfortunately, authorities declared him dead minutes later, said the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
The Union Pacific Police Department currently handles the investigation into this tragic incident.
