Injuries Reported in Vallejo Auto Accident on Highway 101
VALLEJO, CA (May 11, 2023) – Tuesday morning, authorities arrested Ernesto Samuel Esquivel after a startling police chase crash on Highway 101.
The incident started when authorities attempted to pull over a car matching the description of a carjacked vehicle. Then, the suspect vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect vehicle attempted to hit a CHP patrol vehicle at some point. Then, authorities used a spike strip to slow down the suspect vehicle which led it to lose control and crashed into a parked vehicle.
Moreover, officers arrested the suspect, 37-year-old suspect. Also, officials confirmed that occupants of the parked vehicle sustained minor injuries in the incident.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
