Ernest Putnam Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Providence Road [Columbia, MO]

Columbia, MO (November 21, 2024) On Thursday morning, 52-year-old Ernest Putnam was killed after a horrific multi-vehicle crash on Providence Road.

According to the Columbia Police Department (CPD), the 3-vehicle crash happened at about 10:53 a.m. on November 14, in the 2700 block of South Providence Road.

Reports say that the three-car collision resulted in the death of one individual.

Authorities say that the crash involved a 2022 Ford Explorer, a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Investigators determined that the Ford, traveling southbound on Providence Road, attempted to turn left onto Carter Lane.

Furthermore, a northbound Chrysler collided with the Ford, causing the Explorer to overturn and land on the hood of the Hyundai, which was stopped at the intersection of Carter Lane and South Providence Road.

Officials says that Putnam, a passenger in the Pacifica, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries on November 19.
