Erna Dobson of Corning Dies in Vehicle Crash on South Avenue [Corning, CA]

Corning, CA (March 11, 2022) – On Monday, at about 6:30 p.m., 87-year-old Erna Dobson of Corning sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle crash on South Avenue.

Investigating officers say that 62-year-old William Dobson of Los Molinos was driving an eastbound 2015 Chrysler 200.

At the same time, an unidentified teenage boy was westbound in a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup.

William Dobson made a left turn onto Kirkwood Road and drove into the path of the Ford.

As a result, the two vehicles collided.

Erna Dobson who was seated in William Dobson’s right front passenger’s seat sustained injuries due to the accident.

Right away, the paramedics rushed her to Enloe Medical Center in Chico, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, the authorities are investigating this fatal collision. Officers say alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor and no arrests were made.
