Man Dead in Merced County Auto Accident on Sandy Mush Road
MERCED COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2020) – Sunday morning, a crash on Sandy Mush Road left Erick Reyes-Flores, 34, dead.
Additionally, his female passenger sustained injuries in the rollover crash.
Moreover, CHP officers responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Sandy Mush Road at around 8:21 a.m.
Indeed, reports revealed that Mr. Reyes-Flores drove Ford Mustang with a 41-year-old Merced woman as a passenger, headed west on Sandy Mush Road.
Then, the vehicle suddenly veered off the roadway and rolledover multiple times.
Consequently, the force of the crash ejected both person from the vehicle, Officer Eric Zuniga said. Officers believe that the two were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
A passerby responded and assisted in extricating the man pinned under the vehicle. Responders pronounced Erick Reyes-Flores dead at the scene.
Subsequently, paramedics rushed the female passenger by air ambulance to a Fresno area hospital with major injuries.
Ultimately, CHP believe that drugs or alcohol were not factors to the incident.
The fatal Merced County crash is under investigation moving forward.
