Eric Ortiz Killed in Skillman Street Traffic Accident [Dallas, TX]

Dallas, TX (October 9, 2023) – 40-year-old Eric Ortiz was killed in a Skillman Street traffic accident Saturday afternoon.

The authorities found Ortiz at about 3:40 p.m. at the intersection with Leisure Drive while they were responding to a robbery in the area.

Medical rescuers took Ortiz to the hospital where he died.

Officers believe Ortiz was struck when he and another person were chasing the truck.

After a short pursuit, police stopped the suspect vehicle and apprehended the driver, 23-year-old Michael Perez.

The accident report stated that Perez is facing a capital murder charge and was jailed at Dallas County jail. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Officers are still investigating.
