Eric Leuvano Dies in Tragic US 62 Trafic Crash [Gaines County, TX]

Gaines County, TX (April 12, 2024) On Wednesday evening, 49-year-old Eric Leuvano of Hobbs died after a horrific traffic crash on US 62.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal collision happened around 10:21 p.m. at the intersection of US 62 and CR 109.

Reports say that a Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 23-year-old Ever Montes, failed to yield the right of way at an open intersection causing a collision with a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Leuvano.

Medics rushed Leuvano to UMC Hospital in Lubbock, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the hospital. Meanwhile, Montez was taken to Yoakum County Hospital with minor injuries.

DPS is investigating the 2-vehicle collision.
