Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Knoxville Road at Berryessa Drive
NAPA, CA (September 18, 2019) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night in a rural Napa County.
The crash happened around around 6:08 p.m. on Knoxville Road near Berryessa Drive, just west of Lake Berryessa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. A vehicle that was stopped on Berryessa Drive at the intersection with Knoxville Road entered the roadway.
The motorcycle struck the left side of the vehicle, ejecting the rider.
As a result, the rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified him as Eric Michael Jensen, 39, of Napa.
The driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Justin Novack of Stevenson, complained of pain, the CHP said. A passenger in the vehicle did not report any injuries.
It does not appear drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, according to the CHP.
Further investigation is underway.
